The two reigning world champions have thrown their support behind the International Canoe Federation’s decision to abandon the September event.

The decision comes after months of uncertainty and deliberation over whether the event scheduled to run in Portugal could go ahead.

While racing ground to a halt during Australia’s lockdown, the recreational pursuit of paddling soared to new heights.
