It’s been dubbed “Australia’s best downwind race” by its very own organisers – but that claim may not be too far from the truth.
The Moon Island Ocean Classic is a not-for-profit downwind race held at Swansea, just south of Newcastle.
The area is one of the country’s most versatile for paddling, with a number of course options available to organisers to ensure a great day out on the water at this proudly community-run event.
Generally, the length of the race is around 14 kilometres. More information will be provided closer to the event.
All proceeds go to the Swansea Belmont SLSC.
